About Me

Stephanie Rosalia
I am the School Library Media Specialist at PS/MS 105Q, The Bay School, in Far Rockaway, New York. I earned my MLS from Queens College GSLIS, CUNY, where I graduated first in my class and was honored with the Graduate Award for outstanding contributions to the University, and with the Laurie Richardson Award for the highest GPA. More recently, I was again honored as Alum of the Year in 2009. The New York Times featured my work in my former library program at the Eileen E. Zaglin School in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn with a front-page article, "In Web age, library job gets update" (www.nytimes.com/2009/02/16/books/16libr.html) and video, "The 21st Century Librarian" (http://video.nytimes.com/video/2009/02/15/.../the-21st-century-librarian.html) on February 16, 2009. I am passionate about exciting kids' curiosity, connecting them with books, and about teaching the skills kids need to be successful in the 21st century; things like, how to learn, as opposed to what to know.
